The Supreme Court’s decision today confirming same-sex marriages falls well beyond my area of expertise. For that reason, I will readily leave its legal analysis to more capable colleagues.

However, as a human, a concerned citizen, an active member of local, national and global communities, I am pleased to share my elation about the great step this takes us toward making ours an evermore just and fair society. Clients, colleagues, friends – we collaborate daily to build a grand community full of resources and enterprises available to all, especially those most in need. With this ruling, there is one less obstacle to taking care of each other across the nation.

Today, I will celebrate with all of you and encourage you to keep this feeling alive as we continue to work together overcoming other obstacles on the road to a grand compassionate society.
